As I have stated in my notes to the 1976 Silver Eagles performance, after watching BOZO the helicopter I always wanted to fly one. Here I am in the co-pilot seat dreaming of one day when I will get to fly one of these babies. That day never came. Instead I enlisted in the Utah Army National Guard on 23 January 1991 as a 12B Combat Engineer and learned how to drive a dump trunk, a tank and blow things up. And I had fun doing it. I did not go to Saudi Arabia for the first Gulf War. I did fly in one on the Spring FTX in April of 1994 while in ROTC at Weber State University. We flew from an unknown location in the Uinta National Forest to Hinckley airport in Ogden, UT. What a ride it was. This thing truly is the Wonkavator.
